Lynne and ELO's farewell tour started in August 2024 and was to be concluded on July 13 in London's Hyde Park.

The perfect place for our final concert, said Lynne in October last year when the tour plan was announced.

Now, however, Lynne's doctor has put a stop to the final concert.

"Jeff Lynne is devastated to have to announce that he will not be able to perform. Jeff has been fighting a systemic infection and is currently being treated by a team of doctors who have informed him that it is simply not possible to perform at the moment, and he will not be able to reschedule the show", the band writes in a statement.

During a concert in Lynne's hometown Birmingham last week, he was unable to play guitar, reportedly due to a hand injury he sustained in an incident with a taxi. After that, ELO cancelled a show in Manchester on Thursday due to illness, but then claimed that the show in Hyde Park would take place.
