Guermouche was born in 1977 in Stockholm and grew up in Borgholm on Öland. He educated himself at Konstfack in Stockholm, where he took a master's degree in 2009. After his education, he moved back to Öland.
Recurring themes in Guermouche's art are masculinity, ethnicity, and nationality. His works have been exhibited throughout Europe and at institutions such as the National Museum in Stockholm, Gothenburg Art Hall, and Magasin III.
Oscar Guermouche has been a lecturer and guest teacher at the Royal College of Art, Konstfack, and the Academy Valand. He was vice chairman of the Visual Artists' Fund, chairman of the Iaspis delegation, and a member of Konstfack's university board. Guermouche also ran the publishing house Praun & Guermouche together with designer Sandra Praun since 2020.
This autumn, he participated in the exhibition "Inmundigas" at Galleri Gemla in Stockholm and exhibited the book project "The eye of the tiger" at Riche restaurant. Until November 30, his exhibition "Och mulnar det i Svithiod" is on display at Áttje museum in Jokkmokk.
