Trump Explains Hesitation on Pardoning Diddy After 2020 Campaign Rift

In the interview with Newsmax Trump says he has been asked if he could pardon Sean ”Diddy” Combs. The hip-hop mogul was recently convicted of prostitution crimes, but was acquitted of the more serious charges of sex trafficking and extortion.

He was half innocent. He is still in prison or something. He celebrated as if it was a victory but it does not seem to have been such a big victory, says Trump.

He continues to describe how he and Combs previously got along well but that Combs turned his back on him during the election campaign in 2020. Then Combs gave his support to Joe Biden.

When I entered the presidential campaign, he became very hostile, says Trump.

It may have cost him the pardon.

I will be honest that it makes it more difficult.

So it is more likely to be a no to Combs?

Yes, that's what I would say.

Combs' sentence has not been determined but he risks a long prison sentence. In addition, dozens of further lawsuits for sexual abuse are pending, according to The New York Times.
