Ten newborns have died in a fire at a hospital in the Indian city of Jhansi. 16 babies have been injured and are receiving care.
The fire broke out late on Friday evening local time at the hospital, located about 45 miles south of the capital New Delhi.
Seven dead have been identified. Three have not been identified yet, says Uttar Pradesh's Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak.
The cause of the fire is believed to be a broken oxygen mask, but the circumstances will be investigated.
If any mistakes are found, strong measures will be taken against those responsible and no one will be spared, says Brajesh Pathak.
