Four boys under the age of 15 from Skåne are suspected of having taken on a murder assignment in Skurup for payment. One is suspected of being the shooter and a close friend of his is suspected of having organized the murder and handled contacts with the adults who ordered it.
The other boy is suspected of having had a group where they planned to commit such crimes for payment, says prosecutor Tomas Olvmyr.
He does not want to disclose the amounts involved, but says that the police were able to seize a sum of cash in connection with the arrest.
No penalties
It is an extensive investigation of over 6,000 pages that is now complete and is being sent out for so-called final disclosure. The next step for the prosecutor will be to bring a charge in Ystad District Court, so that the court can determine whether the boys are guilty or not. Since they are so young, no penalties can be imposed.
The boy suspected of shooting and the boy suspected of organizing are both suspected of murdering a man in his 50s and attempting to murder other relatives who lived in the house in Skurup. Two more boys are suspected of aiding and abetting murder by having been out and reconnoitering the area in the villa district before the crime.
The suspected organizer is suspected of having begun planning a new murder in Stockholm after the murder in Skurup. For this, another young teenager was recruited, who lives in central Sweden, but the crime was not carried out. The prosecutor also plans to bring charges against this fifth boy.
"Something goes wrong"
The suspected motive for the murder in Skurup is revenge.
The main thread of the investigation is that in early July, an attack was supposed to take place in Stockholm, but for some reason something went wrong and it didn't happen as planned. There was a conflict, and this act in Skurup on August 10 occurred as revenge for that conflict, says Tomas Olvmyr.
No suspected client of the murder has been detained, but one person has been arrested in absentia.
