Taylor Swift reacts to the attack in Southport

Taylor Swift has made a statement after the stabbing in British Southport, which took the lives of three children and left several with life-threatening injuries.

The incident occurred at a dance event with a Taylor Swift theme, where children between six and eleven years old participated. On her Instagram, Taylor Swift now writes that she is in shock over the event.

"The loss of innocent lives, and the horrific trauma for everyone who was there, the families and the emergency personnel who were first on the scene. They were small children who were at a dance lesson. I don't know how I will ever be able to express my sympathies to the families", she writes.

The artist also announces that she has initiated a collection via the organization Alder Hey children's charity to support the affected and their families. Over 100,000 pounds, equivalent to 1.4 million kronor, had been collected in just one day after the incident in Southport.

A 17-year-old has been arrested for the incident.
