A tanker truck loaded with 27 tons of sulfuric acid drove off the road on Saturday morning and landed on its roof. The single-vehicle accident occurred on E18 at Villingsberg between Karlskoga and Örebro. Police, rescue services, and an ambulance were on site for most of the day and evening.
The driver is reported to have gotten out of the vehicle, according to NA. According to the police, the driver escaped without serious injuries.
The accident caused a complete stop in both directions, and traffic was diverted to other roads.
The rescue operation was not completed until 10 pm, but the road remains closed until 4 am on Sunday, the newspaper writes.
