The International Ski Federation's chairman Johan Eliasch comments on the scandal for the first time.
I am deeply shocked by the events. Respect and fairness are the core values in our sport and ensure that the best athlete wins. There is no room for manipulation and we take this seriously and investigate it with openness and thoroughness, he says to NRK.
Changing "immediately"
Now Fis confirms that the rules regarding suits will be tightened.
"Given the seriousness of the incident in Trondheim, the suit rules will be immediately adjusted for the rest of the World Cup season in both ski jumping and Nordic combined", the ski federation writes to the news agency NTB.
According to Norwegian media reports, it is about, among other things, that ski jumpers will only be allowed to use one suit for the rest of the season.
Fis will be responsible for the suits and the jumpers can pick them up 30 minutes before training or competition. After that, they must be returned no later than half an hour after use.
The ski jumpers can have an extra suit available in case of damage to the regular one.
Fis' move comes after Norway was caught manipulating their suits during the World Championship competition in the large hill on Saturday.
Disqualified jumpers suspended
Marius Lindvik took silver in the large hill and Johann Forfang became fifth, but both were disqualified after it was revealed that their suits had been manipulated.
On Sunday, Norway admitted to cheating and Fis will investigate all Norwegian medals in ski jumping and Nordic combined during the World Championship, a total of six.
The upcoming World Cup competition for ski jumpers will take place in Holmenkollen on Thursday. Both Lindvik and Forfang are then suspended during the investigation, Fis announced on Wednesday.
