It has happened under 2024, and supervision has been initiated regarding the other HVB homes pointed out in the material that the police have submitted to Ivo, says Gunnar Strömmer (M).
In late August, a previously confidential police report was made public, showing that organized crime had infiltrated the market for HVB homes. 18 companies were identified as having criminal connections.
Early on Thursday morning, the government called a meeting with several authorities at Rosenbad to determine what can be done "immediately" to prevent gangs from running HVB homes.
This resulted in us receiving information that a number of these homes have already been shut down, says Strömmer.
"Not get away"
He notes that the police's material points out significantly more, but emphasizes that the examination of these is ongoing.
None of the homes covered by this material will escape an examination, and if necessary, a shutdown if the information that has emerged proves to be true, he says.
According to Ivo, decisions have been made to revoke the permits of two companies, as well as prohibit an operation that conducts HVB. Two of the decisions have gained legal force, one has been appealed and will be tried by the administrative court. The company is not allowed to operate in the meantime.
According to an investigation by SVT, which has identified the anonymized HVB homes in the police report through sources, Swedish municipalities paid over 200 million kronor to these companies last year.
The municipalities, which are responsible for placing children, have not been informed which companies and HVB homes are involved.
Ammunition at home
According to SVT's investigation, there are individuals among the company representatives who have been suspected of robbery with Bandidos, employees who have paid rent to gang leaders, and homes where bulletproof vests, drugs, and ammunition have been found.
The companies SVT has investigated are said to still have their permits and have children placed. Several of them have been previously criticized by Ivo. One home, for example, had its permit revoked by the authority due to "danger to life", but the decision was overturned in court.
