What I'm saying now may sound a bit drastic, but I see a modern war economy before me, says Svantesson in her speech at The Moderate Party's Sweden meeting in Karlstad.

She says that she does not intend to make citizens remember black and white war films, coffee substitutes or rationing cards. In her modern war economy, measures to increase growth to create more billions for the buildup are included instead.

Growth is one leg, the other is order in the state's finances and to simultaneously be able to prioritize hard in the state's expenditures to also get more money for the defense that way, according to the finance minister.
