A man who is internationally wanted for sexual assault against a child at a recreational center in Örebro has been arrested in Belgium, writes Nerikes Allehanda.
The 23-year-old man was detained in his absence at the beginning of August, but had then managed to flee abroad. Now he will be requested to be extradited to Sweden, and subsequently, the plan is to interrogate him and initiate detention proceedings, according to the prosecutor for NA.
It was on July 24 that the man is suspected of subjecting a little girl to sexual assault at the recreational center where he worked.
After the incident, the recreational center has been criticized for several irregularities. Among other things, for how long it took to alert the police after the incident, and that the man could work at the recreational center despite being prosecuted for, among other things, child abuse. He is also said to have been employed under a false name.
