The stock market took a joyful leap after figures from the USA showed strong retail sales in July and fewer unemployed last week. The broad OMXS index had risen by 1.1 percent at the close.
The OMXS30 list also turned green on Thursday. A majority of the 30 stocks ended the day on a plus. The best performer was the white goods conglomerate Electrolux, which continued on its winning streak after yesterday's substantial increase. On Thursday, the stock ended up 5.1 percent.
It went worse for the real estate company SBB, which fell back by 2.1 percent. The telecom company Tele2 also had a weak development and fell by 1.2 percent.
The OMXS30 as a whole rose by 1.2 percent.
The leading stock exchanges in Europe had a similar development to the Stockholm stock exchange. For example, the London stock exchange ended up 0.8 percent.
