The alarm about a suspected shooting came to the police at 23.11 on Wednesday evening. The shooting is said to have taken place indoors in an apartment in a multi-family house in the Hovsjö district.
During Thursday morning, the Stockholm District Court confirmed that Salwan Momika had passed away.
I lived in the same stairwell before and live in the same yard now. It doesn't feel safe at all, it's sad. Why did he broadcast live?, says a woman who TT talks to at a nearby grocery store during Thursday morning.
"A lot of crap all the time"
Åsa Sääf has lived in one of the neighboring yards for 15 years. She is not surprised by the fatal shooting.
It's not the first time it happens here in the yards around. Now I sound indifferent, but I'm not really. You get desensitized, unfortunately, says she and continues:
It happens so much here in the corners, but not just here. People say "I'm going to move", yeah, move where then? Maybe somewhere deep in the forest you can be left in peace?
When asked if she enjoys living in the area, Sääf responds:
No, I don't. Why would I? It happens so much, there's so much crap all the time. It's not just here, as I said.
"Had permission"
Another woman who works in home care is on her way out to an alarm at an apartment adjacent to where the shooting took place the previous day.
I get scared, especially in the evening, says she
About Salwan Momika being shot, the woman says:
On the one hand, he didn't need to continue burning the Koran, but on the other hand, we have that freedom here in Sweden. You can say what you want. And he had gotten permission from the police.
Another woman, who lives and works in the area, tells that she is scared.
Look what happens if you go out in the evenings! I go straight home when I finish work.
She had no idea that Momika was in Hovsjö.
When they said he lived here, I was shocked, because we've heard that he burns and burns. It felt a bit dangerous. And that he was now in the vicinity – I shudder, says she
