When the AI Commission presented its report to the government last week, the message was that it is urgent for politics to show leadership. The development is moving at lightning speed and Sweden risks falling behind the rest of the world.
This is our era's great technological leap, says Mikael Damberg, economic-political spokesperson for The Social Democrats.
The Social Democrats are backing the proposal for the government to present an AI strategy in the spring. The party is happy to contribute to developing such a strategy, no later than April 15, the same day the spring budget is presented.
This is so that this doesn't just become a goal, but also leads to concrete change, says Damberg about the strategy being linked to the budget.
The strategy should clearly point out the way forward and contain goals that can be evaluated and followed up. For example, broad educational initiatives may be needed to get everyone on board.
The Social Democrats believe that Sweden has good opportunities to develop through AI, and it's not just about business. In healthcare, staff can use AI for administration and instead get more time to help people.
