After a cautious start, the Stockholm Stock Exchange gained momentum around lunchtime, a momentum that decreased during the afternoon but still managed to rise slightly.
The heat pump manufacturer Nibe performed best in the large-cap index during the day, rising 3.1 percent.
Also among the top-performing companies was the mining giant Boliden (up 1.3 percent). The clothing company H&M performed well in the morning but lost ground towards the end, with the increase ending at 0.5 percent.
SCA performed worst among the OMXS30 companies, with the forestry company falling 0.8 percent at the close.
Among the smaller companies, Björn Borg stood out with a 5.6 percent increase after announcing that it would raise its growth targets from 5 percent to at least 10 percent for its three main categories: underwear, sportswear, and shoes.
The London Stock Exchange was closed on Monday due to a public holiday, while the Frankfurt Stock Exchange's DAX fell 0.1 percent.
