The siblings placed in foster care were forced to move from the family home they had lived in for over two years following a decision by the municipality's Child and Education Committee, which believed that the family home had not done enough to enable the children to maintain contact with their biological parents.
The case has received extensive media attention.
The children were placed in foster care after signs of neglect and physical and psychological abuse, and have themselves expressed a desire not to have contact with their biological parents.
We don't want to meet them. Not after everything they've done to us, said one of the children to SVT, which has made a report on the case.
The Administrative Court agrees with the children, but notes in its judgment that "the foster parents have a negative impact on the siblings, which hinders contact between the siblings and their biological network, and ultimately counteracts a future reunification."
Yet, the children are allowed to stay in the foster home, as the court has taken great account of the children's wishes.
"The Administrative Court's assessment is therefore that it appears most compatible with the siblings' best interests to remain in their current foster home," says the court's chairman, acting judge Sebastian Hallman, in a press release.
