The author E P Ugglas' "Dragons and Demons: The Awakening" is the best Swedish book for 9-12 year olds. At least, that's what a jury consisting of sixth-graders from Eklandaskolan in Mölndal think, who have appointed her the recipient of the Children's Radio Book Prize 2024.
"The fantasy in the book is mixed with a bit of drama, which makes the suspense greater and better. "Dragons and Demons" is about friendship, betrayal, and adventure. It is well-written and has very good descriptions", reads part of the jury's motivation.
The Children's Radio Book Prize is a collaboration between Sveriges Radio and UR (Educational Radio). The prize amount is 30,000 kronor.
