The Belgian police have arrested seven people suspected of preparing a terrorist attack, announces the country's prosecution authority. They have also carried out 14 raids against different addresses in Belgium, including in Brussels and Antwerp.
In the statement, the authority writes that all seven are "suspected of participating in a terrorist group's activities, financing of terrorism and preparing a terrorist attack".
There is no evidence of any connection to the OS in Paris, whose opening ceremony takes place on Friday.
Belgium was shaken in 2016 by suicide attacks at Zaventem airport and in the Brussels metro, where 32 people were killed and hundreds injured.
They came a year after the attacks in Paris where 130 people were killed.
