The French spirits manufacturer Pernod Ricard, which among other things owns the Absolut Vodka brand, is experiencing a clearly decreased demand in line with the tougher economic situation.
Global sales increased by 1.2 percent to 2.66 billion euros, but it was below market expectations, and on the important European and American markets, there was even a decline of almost 5 percent each.
However, Pernod writes in the report that Absolut has developed well on the European market, whereas weaker growth is reported in China and India.
