Two people are sentenced to over 34 years in prison each for instigating the murder of the Ecuadorian presidential candidate Fernando Villavicencio.
Villavicencio was shot by armed men on motorcycles in August last year. He was on his way home after an election meeting in the capital Quito. Thirteen people were injured in the attack, which took place shortly before the first round of the presidential election.
Three more people are sentenced to 12 years in prison each for aiding and abetting the murder.
