The American security organization Secret Service says that the mistake of not securing the roof where the assassination attempt on Donald Trump took place from is inexcusable.
The acting head of Secret Service, Ronald Rowe, says in a Senate hearing that he "cannot defend" the mistake. Rowe also said in the inquiry that he himself visited Pennsylvania to inspect the site of the assassination attempt on July 13, and that he was ashamed of the mistake of not checking the roof. Rowe has replaced Kimberly Cheatle, who submitted her resignation after the attack on the former president in Bethel Park, Butler, Pennsylvania.
The federal authority Secret Service has, among other things, the task of protecting presidents, former presidents, and presidential candidates.
