Hundreds of civilians were in the area and were waiting for the aid shipment when the accident occurred at midnight during the night towards Wednesday, according to the civil defense in Hamas-controlled Gaza.

Israel's military says according to AFP that the incident is being investigated.
During the last 24 hours, hospitals in the Gaza Strip have registered five new deaths due to starvation and malnutrition, writes Gaza's health authority on Telegram.
A total of 193 people, including 96 children, have thus died due to malnutrition.
Since Tuesday, a total of 138 people have been killed by Israeli forces, according to the health authority. 87 people are reported to have died when they tried to get hold of emergency aid.
The figures are difficult to verify by independent parties, as Israel does not allow international journalists to report from Gaza.
