Shortly after 1 am on Saturday, after five hours of searching, the search operation for a person who is believed to have fallen out of their boat in the Gothenburg archipelago was discontinued.

We have been able to determine who owns the boat, but we have not been able to reach this person, said Helena Clase, duty officer at the police, to TT early on Saturday.

After the search operation was discontinued, the police took over the case.

We had a helicopter in the air during the day, but I have not received any information that we have made any finds, says the police's press spokesperson Hans-Jörgen Ostler.

The police currently have no active search operation, but are continuously making new assessments.

If we receive new information or if something else comes up, we will search the places that may be of interest, says Hans-Jörgen Ostler.

The alarm about an unmanned boat came in at 9 pm on Friday. The Swedish Maritime Administration, the Coast Guard, the Sea Rescue Society, and the Armed Forces searched the waters between Fiskebäck and Asperö.
