The man was arrested during the night against Saturday, suspected of having assaulted a woman he is in a relationship with.

When we later get information that a man has come in with injuries to the healthcare, we suspect that the same man is behind that incident as well, says Åsa Mjörndal, press spokesperson for police region Nord.

The suspected attempted murder is believed to have taken place in the suspected man's residence. The two men are acquaintances with each other.

It seems to have been preceded by a quarrel and then he used some kind of object.

Now the man is suspected of assaulting the woman and of attempted murder, or alternatively aggravated assault, of the man.

The injured man sought medical care on his own and has been questioned by the police.
