Beskedet om that SD should not start any new anonymous accounts was incorrect according to the party's communications chief Joakim Wallerstein.
In fact, it applies until the EU election on Sunday, reports GP.
Sverigedemokraternas press chief Oskar Cavalli-Björkman confirms this for TT that it is the case.
Liberal leader Johan Pehrson has been critical since TV4 revealed that SD's communications department runs anonymous accounts.
After the latest statement from SD, he says:
"This morning SD was supposed to stop anonymous accounts. Now in the afternoon, maybe more will be opened after the election. I give no credence to these promises. The Liberals will come forward with a sharp proposal to ban party fake accounts and put an end to this circus once and for all", writes Pehrson on X.
A Facebook post about SD not starting any new anonymous accounts, written by party executive committee member and local councilor Andrea Kronvall in Norrtälje, contributed to the confusion.
Correction: In an earlier version, the wrong surname was given for Andrea Kronvall.
TV4's Kalla fakta has revealed that the Sverigedemokraternas communications department runs anonymous accounts.
A total of 23 SD-controlled accounts have been identified, several of which are anonymous.
The accounts have 260,000 followers and 27 million views together in the first quarter of the year.
Through the anonymous accounts, SD has smeared and attacked other parliamentary parties and even the government. The accounts also contain a lot of anti-immigration criticism and ridicule of, among other things, the environmental movement.
An example is a clip where AI tools were used to manipulate what S-leader Magdalena Andersson says.
SD claims that the anonymous material is mainly "harmless" memes, satire, and jokes.
In Kalla fakta, it emerges that SD is keen to keep the anonymous accounts secret.
