An African royal python has been found in a forest area in Halland, reports local media.
The snake was found by a woman who was out in the forest looking for chanterelles. The woman contacted her daughter, who drove out to the site and with the help of a towel picked up the snake.
I was never afraid, but a little nervous that it would bite me, says the daughter, Daniella Nilsson, to SVT News Halland.
After a few hours in Daniella Nilsson's arms, the snake was picked up by pet store owner Stefan Sandinge.
I hope it has escaped. But it was right out in the forest, so unfortunately it is likely that it has been released by someone who got tired of it. It is of course a reprehensible behavior, he says to Hallands News.
