36 flights cancelled and 201 delayed. This was the result after a pair of scissors went missing from a store near the gates at New Chitose Airport in Japan, Japanese media reports.
The security check at the airport, which is the third busiest in Japan, was suspended for a couple of hours on Saturday, resulting in long queues and temporarily stranded passengers.
However, despite the queues, many passengers seemed to be in good spirits. Several users on the X platform praised the airport's security.
"This incident shows the level of safety in Japanese aviation", writes a user.
The scissors were found the next day – in the same store they disappeared from, according to BBC, but it was not announced until Monday. According to authorities, they wanted to make sure it was the same pair of scissors first.
