The Norwegian conglomerate Schibsted is selling several of its operations, including the price comparison websites Prisjakt and Lendo. CEO Christian Printzell Halvorsen explains the decision by saying that the conglomerate now wants to "simplify the company portfolio and sell off parts that do not belong to the core business".
"We expect to initiate the sales process within the next nine months", he says in a press release.
Earlier this summer, the conglomerate announced that it would also be getting rid of 250 employees. The downsizing is part of a cost-cutting and efficiency program.
