Eagle S is to be moved from the Porkala peninsula to a harbor in Borgå, just east of Helsinki. Two pilots and a tugboat are escorting the Russian vessel, while units from the Finnish Border Guard are monitoring, writes Hufvudstadsbladet.
An area of one nautical mile will be cordoned off around the vessel, and a no-fly zone applies to the area, while the police continue to investigate the suspicions of sabotage.
The move makes it easier for the police to access Eagle S. Previously, investigators had to be winched down from a helicopter to the vessel's deck.
It was on Thursday that Finnish police boarded Eagle S following suspicions that the vessel had damaged the Estlink 2 power cable between Finland and Estonia.
Eagle S is suspected of being part of Russia's so-called shadow fleet, convenience-flagged vessels used to circumvent the international sanctions imposed after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
