Former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer is being sued after a traffic accident with a fatal outcome.
The lawsuit was filed on Wednesday by the daughter of a 47-year-old man who died in March after being hit by a car at a pedestrian crossing in Alhambra, east of Los Angeles, USA.
A video attached to the lawsuit shows how the man is hit by a black car turning left at an intersection. He later died at the hospital.
According to the lawsuit, Klinghoffer was driving the car without license plates and was holding a mobile phone.
Klinghoffer is currently on tour with the band Pearl Jam, but his lawyer Andrew Brettler tells TMZ:
"It was a tragic accident. After Josh hit the pedestrian in the intersection, he immediately stopped the car, called 911, and waited until the police and ambulance arrived. Obviously, he is cooperating with the police throughout the entire traffic investigation."
The police say the incident is still being investigated.
