The Norwegian handball club Vipers is not going bankrupt. A group of investors is taking over the club.

This is a good solution for Vipers, says chairman Peter Gitmark.

The current board of directors is resigning and an extraordinary annual meeting will be held in a week.

Vipers is a very successful handball team that won the Champions League three years in a row between 2021 and 2023. The club features Swedish national team players Jamina Roberts, Carin Strömblad, and Nina Koppang.

On Sunday, Gitmark announced that they had failed to raise the equivalent of 24 million kronor and that bankruptcy was therefore unavoidable.

On Monday morning, a group of investors demanded to take over the Kristiansand club, which the board of directors agreed to. He says that the players, who did not receive their salaries on Friday, will get them as soon as practically possible.
