Last year, 10,141 limited companies went bankrupt, which is a record high and an increase of 23 percent compared to 2023. This according to figures from the credit information company Creditsafe.
"2024 has been a dark year for many entrepreneurs. Low economic growth, inflation, high interest rates, and decreased purchasing power led to difficult conditions where even well-established companies have had to fight for their survival," says Henrik Jacobsson, CEO of Creditsafe in a press release.
Considering the total number of limited companies, the proportion of companies that have now been declared bankrupt is the highest since 2013.
