Rasmus Dahlin has, since he was drafted as number one in 2018, become a superstar in the NHL. Now he is also being rewarded with the role as team captain in his team, Buffalo Sabres.
During the last three seasons, Rasmus Dahlin has had to "settle" for having an A on his chest, like all vice-captains have. But for the season that starts in a week, he will exchange it for a C.
"He does everything right, first and foremost. His performances on the ice have been fantastic, and I think he's a guy who can lead in all aspects. Everything from how he prepares for matches to how he plays and really wants to win hockey matches", says Buffalo's coach, Lindy Ruff, to the club's website.
The Swede has played for Sabres since his entry into the world's best hockey league in the 2018/19 season and has been quite prominent during several seasons. This despite the fact that the team has not impressed. During the last season, the offensive defenseman scored 20 goals and 39 assists in 59 matches.
