A man in Ystad suffered life-threatening injuries after an unprovoked knife attack in September. Now, a 20-year-old man is sentenced to eight years and six months in prison for attempted murder, reports Ystads Allehanda.
The convicted was under the influence of narcotics at the time of the incident and has been unable to explain in police interrogations why he attacked the other man with a knife.
The court has concluded that he intended to kill, or at least he must have realized that there was a risk that the victim would die during the attack. He is also sentenced to pay 250,000 kronor in damages.
