The police fired a warning shot in connection with chasing a man in Krokslätt in Gothenburg on Saturday evening.

One or more witnesses call and say: "We see a person handling what we believe is a pistol", says Sebastian Börjesson, duty officer at the police, to TT.

The police arrive at the scene and find a man in his 20s who matches the description they received.

When we try to confront him, he runs away and tries to escape us. It becomes a chase of about 100 meters. In connection with this, we fire a warning shot, says Börjesson.

Shortly after, the man could be arrested. A pistol-like object was seized, but it is unclear whether it is a real weapon.

The man is now suspected of serious weapons offenses.
