More than 1.6 million people have lost power in Brazilian São Paulo due to a severe storm.
The bad weather rolled in over the metropolitan area on Friday and caused extensive damage to, among other things, vegetation and infrastructure.
According to local authorities, wind gusts of up to 30 meters per second were measured, which caused problems for both water and electricity supply in the multi-million city.
Several city districts were still without power on Saturday, despite more than 16 hours having passed since the storm blew by. At least five people are reported to have died in the state due to the bad weather.
São Paulo is the most populous city in South America.
