Emilia Nilsson Garip, 21, was on her way to her third medal in the European Championship in diving in Belgrad, during the final in the three-metre springboard.
Then she injured herself during the fourth dive and could not complete the competition.
Nilsson Garip hit her feet on the springboard in the dive - which did not give any points.
To Radiosporten, the national diving team's team leader Sanna Wallertoft said that the doctors on site did not assess the injury as serious, but that it required a hospital visit for a reassuring check.
Something the 21-year-old could later confirm.
I just hit a bit. Got a few scrapes and sore feet, but that's it. I'll be able to dive again soon.
It was scary and I got a bit of a shock. I didn't think so much about the dive, but mostly about not getting hurt. And I didn't, so that was good, says Nilsson Garip to SVT.
Elna Widerström finished fifth in the final, 72.65 points behind the winner Dasharne Bent-Ashmeil from the United Kingdom.
Nilsson Garip has Sweden's quota place in the three-metre springboard at the summer Olympics in Paris.
The Swedish divers have secured four medals earlier in the week.
Elna Widerström took European Championship gold in the one-metre springboard, and Emilia Nilsson Garip took bronze in the same.
The latter also took European Championship silver in the mixed synchronized event together with Elias Petersen, and Widerström won together with Nina Janmyr silver in the synchronized three-metre event.
