During Tuesday evening, Isak made his first statement since the conflict with his current club started.
"When promises are broken, trust disappears, then the relationship cannot continue”, he wrote, among other things.
Later the same evening, Newcastle struck back in a statement where they meant that nothing had been promised to the Swede.
”Alex is still a part of our family and will be welcomed back when he is ready to reunite with his teammates”, the club concluded.
Isak has not trained with Newcastle during the preseason in hope of forcing a move to the reigning English champions Liverpool.
