A thin and contact-seeking dog was found on Saturday in Jølster in western Norway.
The dog, a border collie, had no collar but a chip that could guide the police to the right owner.
It then turned out that the dog had been reported missing seven years ago.
The owner became very happy about the good news and can hopefully soon be reunited with their dog, says Steinar Hausvik at the police to VG.
It is still unclear where the dog has been since it disappeared, but getting an answer to that question is nothing the police will allocate resources to, says Hausvik to NTB.
It's up to the one who reported the dog missing seven years ago, he says.
