Four young musicians from Sweden, Norway, and Denmark competed for the Polstjärnepris of the year. After three competition rounds, it was finally the Norwegian cellist Clara Yuna Friedensburg who stood as the winner at the Gothenburg Concert Hall.

The jury's motivation reads: "With an expressive and very emotionally vulnerable playing, Clara's powerful yet passionate tone and phrasing offer the audience an intense and unforgettable experience."

Clara Yuna Friedensburg is from Oslo but studies at the Kronberg Academy in Germany.

"The highlight was getting to play with GSO (Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra) on stage, it was really a dream," she says in a press release.

The competition is arranged annually by Vänersborg Municipality for individuals between 14 and 18 years old who are active in classical music. The winner receives 50,000 kronor.
