The Norwegian police are internationally seeking the Swedish gang leader Ismail Abdo, known as Jordgubben. This emerges from a press release from the Norwegian police.
This follows the shooting of a Swedish man in his 30s in the Norwegian town of Moss last November. The man was hit by several shots and seriously injured.
Ismail Abdo becomes the sixth person to be identified as a suspect in the case. The Norwegian police want him arrested and extradited to Norway.
We cannot accept that serious criminals commit serious crimes in our neighbouring areas. The local population should feel safe in the Eastern police district. Therefore, we are focusing strongly on the investigation of this type of case to ensure that those behind it are caught and punished, says police inspector Thomas Stærk.
Four people have previously been arrested in the case, of whom three are Swedes. One of them has been released, while three are in custody. On Tuesday, a fifth person was also arrested in Sweden and is being requested for extradition to Norway.
