A hastily interrupted concert in Umeå, heavy local downpours and several alarms about lightning strikes.

The coastal area of central Norrland has experienced stormy weather during Thursday evening and early night until Friday, but so far without major damage or accidents as a result.

SMHI has issued a yellow warning for severe thunderstorms along the coast, from Härnösand to Piteå. The warning applies until 06, but the worst precipitation has slowly moved north in the affected area.

The police in the region have noted the large amount of lightning, but have not been called out to an unusually large number of weather-related incidents.

However, the audience in Umeå who were to see the "Diggiloo" gang perform had to go home early. The organizers were forced to interrupt the concert due to the risk of lightning strikes.

People understand that if such thunderstorms come, you have to try to adjust the concert a bit, says Martin Uddestrand, local organizer of "Diggiloo", to Västerbottens-Kuriren.
