According to Japan's defense minister, it is about seven robots that flew as far as 400 kilometers with a maximum altitude of 100 kilometers. They then landed in the water between the Korean peninsula and Japan.

North Korea's actions, including a series of repeated rocket launches, threaten peace and security in Japan, the region, and the international community, said Defense Minister Gen Nakatani.

The launches come just days after North Korea's dictator Kim Jong-Un oversaw a test launch of the country's newest intercontinental ballistic rocket, designed to be able to reach the USA. In response to the launch, the USA participated in a trilateral exercise with South Korea and Japan on Sunday.

Recently, South Korean officials stated that North Korea is likely to step up its military displays in connection with the US election.

At a meeting of the UN Security Council on Monday, North Korea's envoy, Kim Song, stated that Pyongyang will accelerate the buildup of its nuclear weapons program, reports The Guardian.

According to Kim Song, the program will be accelerated to "counter all threats from hostile nuclear states".

The US's nuclear threats against (North Korea) have already reached a critical point in terms of their scope and danger. Due to the US's reckless behavior, the situation is approaching the brink of war, said Kim.

During the meeting, China and Russia were accused by the USA of shamelessly protecting North Korea from closer scrutiny. According to the USA, Pyongyang has been "encouraged to continue developing its illegal ballistic rockets, nuclear and mass destruction programs".
