All companies deny, says preliminary investigation leader Christer B Jarlås, senior prosecutor at the National Unit for Environmental and Working Environment Cases.
The suspicions concern gross negligence leading to another's death, gross negligence leading to bodily harm and causing danger to another.
"We do not believe that any crime has been committed within the framework of Gröna Lund's operations and therefore deny the allegations", says the amusement park's lawyer Jonas Tamm in a comment.
If the companies are prosecuted and convicted, they can be sentenced to corporate fines. No physical person has been notified of suspicion.
Beam broke
The accident occurred in June last year, when the Jetline roller coaster partially derailed when a beam on the underside of the front car broke.
Three of the passengers fell out of the cars during the accident, a woman in her 30s was so severely injured that she died. Nine other people were injured.
The Swedish Accident Investigation Authority (SHK) directed harsh criticism at Gröna Lund in its final report. According to SHK, Gröna Lund's procurement of the beam in question, which was made to another company in 2019, was inadequate. The park's controls were also insufficient, according to the accident investigation authority.
Have taken measures
SHK also pointed to deficiencies in the manufacturing of the beam as a contributing cause of the accident. The company that performed the work is also suspected of crime. The third company that was notified of suspicion is the company that was commissioned by Gröna Lund to manufacture the beam, and which then subcontracted the work without the park's knowledge.
Gröna Lund has stated that it will implement all of the accident investigation authority's recommendations, and that it has taken measures to ensure that something similar cannot happen again.
