No one has been arrested yet after the shooting in Borås where a man died.

The police were alerted early on Friday morning to the Sjöbo district after loud bangs were heard. A 25-year-old man was found injured and later died at the hospital.

I can confirm that it is a man who has moved in gang criminal environments who was shot with multiple shots and subsequently died, says Carolyn Westeröd, prosecutor in the case, to P4 Sjuhärad.

Otherwise, she does not want to comment on the investigation as it is in an early stage.

The police are working with full force and we are working broadly and unbiasedly to be able to map out what happened, says Westeröd, who does not want to comment on whether there are any suspects in the case.

During the weekend, the police will continue to work on creating a sense of security with increased presence in the area.

If anyone has seen or knows anything, we are grateful if they contact us, says the police's press spokesperson Jenny Widén to TT.
