Emilia Nilsson Garip has qualified for the Olympic Games final in the three-meter springboard. The 21-year-old from Malmö finished in eleventh place in the semifinal, where the top twelve advanced to the final.
After her five dives, Nilsson Garip scored a total of 279.60 points.
The Swede's third dive was weak, only scoring 45 points. But Nilsson Garip improved in her last two dives and scored a total that was enough to qualify for the final.
The winner of the semifinal was Chinese diver Chen Yiwen, who finished over 25 points ahead of second-place Maddison Keeney from Australia, and over 80 points ahead of Nilsson Garip.
The final will take place on Friday at 15.00.
