Roads and residential areas have been flooded in Shanghai, as a result of the typhoon Pulasan sweeping over the metropolis. The storm is hitting Shanghai just days after the strongest storm in 75 years led to extensive evacuations.
The typhoon reached the Fengxian district on Thursday evening local time with winds of up to 23 seconds per meter, according to the state news agency New China. The storm is expected to subside on its way inland, but the rain continues to fall over the city.
In video clips on social media, residents can be seen wading through water in some residential areas, but no serious injuries have been reported.
Pulasan comes just a few days after the typhoon Bebinca swept over the city. Over 1,800 trees were uprooted and over 30,000 households were left without power. Over 400,000 people were evacuated before the storm.
