A new fire station in Germany that was destroyed in a fire earlier in the week had no fire alarm, local media reports.
The Stadtallendorf station in Hesse opened, according to local media, less than a year ago. No fire alarm had been installed in the building because experts did not consider it necessary.
The fire broke out in one of the rescue service's emergency vehicles that had lithium-ion batteries and an external power connection.
No one was injured in the fire. However, it caused damage of between 20 and 24 million euros, equivalent to over 200 million kronor.
