Even though the wedding between Princess Märtha Louise, number four in the Norwegian line of succession, and shaman Durek Verrett is a private event, the interest is great both in Norway and abroad.
The arrangement has been surrounded by great secrecy, and no guest list has yet been presented. Nor have Norwegian media received any clear information about whether they will be granted access to the wedding.
British celebrity magazine
According to information from NRK from several independent sources, the British celebrity magazine Hello Magazine has acquired the image rights from the wedding. According to the same sources, the TV rights are linked to the streaming giant Netflix.
The newspaper Aftenposten writes that a film team from Netflix has followed Princess Märtha Louise and Durek Verrett's preparations for the wedding. The American production company Nordic Pictures LLC is said to be collaborating with a Norwegian production company on the documentary.
"The purpose of the job is to film the royal wedding and the surrounding landscape, so that it can be included in a documentary film about the relationship between Princess Märtha and shaman Durek. They are both active participants in telling this story", writes filmmaker Kate Coiro in an email that the newspaper has taken part of.
Behind "Tiger king"
She writes that it is one of the world's largest streaming services that is behind the documentary, but the company's name is not mentioned.
According to the email, the American director Rebekka Chaiklin has asked a Norwegian drone photographer to apply for permission for drones. Chaiklin is behind, among other things, the documentary film "Tiger king", which was made for Netflix in 2020.
