The accident occurred at 4 pm on county road 55.

They have had a head-on collision on the 55 for unknown reasons, between Enköping and Skolsta, just outside Enköping, said Mats Länn, commander at the regional command center of the police in region Mitt, shortly after the accident.

The woman received life-saving measures on site and was taken to hospital by ambulance, but her life could not be saved.

The accident led to a complete stop in traffic, but by 7 pm the police reported that both vehicles had been towed and traffic was flowing again.

No one has been suspected in connection with the accident so far.

We have spoken to some witnesses on site and other drivers, but will speak to the driver of the other vehicle when possible. He was quite shocked, says Magnus Jansson Klarin, press spokesperson for the police in region Mitt.
